what creeks in murphy,nc are known to produce placer gold?

Murphy is in the N.C. western gold belt and on the far northeast corner of the Dahlonega gold belt which runs southeast to Alabama. Georgetown creek in Jackson County has a good history of production as well as Valley river in Cherokee county. Travel into Georgia around Dahlonega and there are quite a few gold bearing creeks and river tributaries.
