Mint Roll
What happens to Mint Leaves during the winter season?

Ok, well you see my sister has a project about plants and what they do during the winter season. Does anyone know what happens to Mint Leaves when the fall/winter season rolls around? Do they change color? Do they die and grow back during the Spring? Or what happens?
Every little thing counts:)! Your help is greatly appreciated.

Mint is a perennial. The leaves turn brown in severe climates and fall off. Here in SC my Chocolate mint (outside IN POTS) is leggy, but still green. They are in pots because mint (all varieties) are agressively invasive (branch lays on ground down its entire length.) In the spring they will regrow - including all those little branches on the ground that have been rooting all winter.

Mint is the only plant I know of with a square stem. It will also root easily in water. (want some?)

don't forget the sap goes down to the roots in winter thing.
