New Mini Dachshund... Help and tips!?

I just got a miniature dachshund dapple short haired male and need help. I have a big crate and when i put treats, a toy, and a sock that smells like me, he cries and i am afraid that i will not sleep tonight.
I am also a new doxie owner and like any tips that will help me. He is on Eagle Pack for small and medium size breeds.

Stick with the crate!! He will get used to it. He is just like a baby that will cry to get you to pick it up. If you pick up the baby everytime it crys, then they learn that is all they need to do to get your attention.
